Jason Gardiner (also known as Blur) is currently tattooing at Think Studio in Bristol. He has been tattooing for nearly five years having carried out his apprenticeship under the tutoring of award winning artist Martin Binczewski. Jason takes on all styles of tattooing Black and grey, Colour, Traditional, Japanese, Lettering, Dot work and Geometric.
Blurs Story
Blur is a former Royal Marine Commando. Serving five years for the corps, including an operational tour in Afghanistan from 2008-2009. He continues a good relationship with the Royal Marines being involved with fundraising events and Poppy appeals. During his time in the Royal Marines he became an avid tattoo collector and struck up a relationship with Martin leading to being given the opportunity to start his apprenticeship.
In his spare time Blur coaches and trains at his local boxing club Broadplain ABC in Easton Bristol. He continuously sets himself physical challenges most recently completing a unsupported Transatlantic Row from Gran Canaria to Barbados, a 3000 mile journey as part of a team of 4. He’s also done a non stop 100 mile foot race through the city of London and finishing in Oxford. Other past achievements include the Marathon des Sables one of the toughest footraces on earth, running one hundred miles non stop in 29 hours and a personal goal of cycling from Bristol to Barcelona.
Jason completed a trans Atlantic row from Gran Canaria to Barbados over the Christmas period of 2021. As part of a four man team of former servicemen taking them 48 days to complete.
